THANKS BE TO GOD

I thank You Lord, for "little things,
        The things of ev'ry day.
A bird song clear, a blossom sweet,
The green grass growing at my feet.
        A little child at play.

I thank You Lord, for "little" things-
        The sunset's red-gold hue,
The starlit sky, the buzz of bee,
The spreading branches of a tree-
These gifts have come from You.

I thank You Lord, for "little things-
        the handclasp of a friend,
A happy smile, a cheering word,
A bit of song or verse I've heard-
All these and more you send.

        The gifts you give are precious gifts;
I thank You for each one!
But far above all else you gave
Stands Calv'rys cross, an empty grave-
The gift of Christ, you Son!

Cattie & Steven Grimes, Darian Neal and Daphne Cheek returned home Friday after a week at summer camp.

Cattie said it was "fun and educational." Mary (Cattie's mom) added that everything they teach is scriptural.

It is good to know that there are still places our young people can attend and have fun and fellowship in a wholesome environment.

An entire New directory will be printed as soon as possible. In the meantime please add to your directory:

        John and Mary Etta Hobbs

                and

        Dennis, Ginger and Paden Reed

MISSIONARY WORK !!

Dennis Reed and his family will be making a missionary trip into the interior of Mexico July 19 -27.

Although the Reeds have their personal expenses taken care of, they will be working with, "some of the poorest people on earth." These people are the native Mexicans.

They can always use all of the financial help they can get for the purchase of medicine, food, etc. for the people they go to help.

This is out opportunity to help spread His word to our neighbors to the South.

Please give whatever you can in addition to your regular contribution, and be sure to mark your check for this work.

From the Pen of JOHN HOBBS....

It has been said, "The church that does not reach out will soon fade out." How true!! This may be a cliche but it is still true. If we do not have an evangelistic thrust, we will soon fade out.
Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." (Mark 16:15-16) This means to go across the street, city, county state and overseas to preach the gospel.
If we want Ninth & Main to grow, we must invite people to come. One family invited another family 17 times to come to church. Sixteen times they received a "no" answer. But on the 17th time, the family came. They were impressed with the services and returned. Eventually, they became Christians. I understand they are still faithful today. What would have happened if the Christian family had given up on the 3rd or 4th invitation?
We must all invite people to services! I am asking that you give me names and addresses of people to invite. when we have a fellowship meal, we will make a special point to invite them, by mail and personal invitation.
We have out instructions from out Lord and Saviour to go into all the world and preach the gospel. I do not want to stand before Him on judgment day and say, "I didn't obey Your command." Do you? Let us have an evangelistic thrust at Ninth & Main. One simple way to do this is invitye people to come.
