This will be our last bulletin prior to our new minister, John Hobbs, beginning work here with us. We look forward to his working here and are confident that, all of us working together, we can accomplish great things. We thank the Lord that we had a man like Eddie Howard to fill the void since April 21. We thank him for his service and pray for his continued efforts in spreading the Gospel. |

From the Pen of EDDIE HOWARD.... | |
This Sunday begins a new era with the 9th & Main congregation. The elders have announced that John & Mary Etta Hobbs will begin their work here on June 9th. The Hobbs' have raised four boys and come from a long history of Christian heritage, with Bro. Hobbs' father serving a elder in the Lord's church of Fort Worth, and Mary Etta's parents serving as missionaries in Europe and Africa. Bro. Hobbs is a talented speaker and writer, having authored six books, and has written Bible and Greek courses for Sunset School of Preaching. He has had articles published in various Christian periodicals. Bro. Hobbs was reared in Ft. Worth, Tx. He preached his first gospel sermon at age fourteen. He has preached for churches in Hamby, Tx., Loving, Tx., Grand Prarie, Tx., Lawn, Tx., and Coleman, Tx. The majority of those congregations experienced dramatic growth during John's tenure. During most, if not all of his time he also served as public school teacher teaching for the better part of the past thirty years. As qualified and talented as John might be, he can not alone, do the work that must be done. It will take every member doing their part. There is a new opportunity. Will you take advantage of it? Was Ninth & Main a warm, friendly, solid congregation or will it be that and more? That is your decision. God bless John and Mary Etta in their work, and God bless the wonderful, faithful Christian brothers and sisters of Ninth & Main. |
