PREPARATION

We're never done preparing. Every act we perform, even if it seems at the time practically our whole purpose in life, is really nothing but preparation for something we'll do at a future time. So long as we live we're never done. Today prepares us for tomorrow, and next year prepares us for the year afterr it. Our life is sort of a savings bank in which we deposit our acts and our experiences to use when we need them---and we always need them. Someone once said that we don't live long enough to make ourselves really useful. Just the same, the more we learn and the more we prepare, the nearer we are to usefulness. So don't be discouraged because life is nothing but a series of preparations. It would be terribly dull if we came to a time when there was nothing else for which to prepare.

What can I do(To help my church grow)?

Invite People: Once the subject of God is brought up, do not forget to invite them to study the Bible or to come to worship with you. Sometimes we feel like it is overbearing to invite people to study. However, without an invitation to do something, approaching someone about God becomes little more than opinion swapping session. Here again, Phillip serves as an example by asking him about his understanding (Acts 8:30).

Quill Pen From the pen of John Hobbs:

The Tracks I left Behind
by Mildred Mason

As I travel down life's highway
Down the rugged stream of time
I hope there won't be any laughing
About the tracks I left behind.

May they gleam with starlight brightness
Is my earnest prayer to God
So they will prove to help some others
When I'm beneath the sod.

For it would bow my head in sadness
If I thought at anytime
There would be some hateful talking
About the tracks I had left behind.

Sometimes the burden may be heavy
And the road seems terribly rough
But mark my word I'm going to make it
Without either brag or bluff.

So when the Master calls for me
And He writes me out my time
There will not be any doubts about
The tracks I have left behind.

My thanks to Mildred for letting us use her poem. It expresses with deep meaning the view that every Christian should have. Everyone of us are leaving tracks. What kind are we leaving?
